Word 2002 can't spell check

Dec 16, 2004 1:56AM PST

My Word 2002 came packaged with Works 2004. Only installed Word. When I attempt to spell check get message "Can not find MSspell3.dll and mmsp232.dll" reinstalled Word and those files still don't exist. I hope I don't have to install Works to make Word complete.

Why not try?

Brad,

What's against installing Works to see if that helps (and I suppose it does). You're not obliged to use every program you install. The program just sits there doing nothing, having no influence on the performance and taking only a very small part of your hard disk space.

Installing everything that comes along

Kees,

Of course you're right. I just get tired of software that I paid for telling me what I have to install, when I have to install it, and how I have to install it. If I don't find a cure for this problem I'll probably install Works or go back to Word 97.

Or try OpenOffice.

Open Office

Thanks for the tip. I'd looked at open office a couple years ago but forgot about it. Had dial up at the time. Downloaded today but haven't installed it yet but will soon. Interesting.

Thanks
