WORD 2000 quest: Prints 2 pages but I only have 1 ???

Jan 26, 2005 8:07PM PST

I compose a document with headers or page numbering having 2 pages, save it. If I revise it down to only 1 page, when I print, it will print the 2nd page headers with the blank body..... How do I get it to recognise that this document is only 1 page?????????? Thank You in advance. sd

Do you ever use print preview?

Check your page setup to see what ...

your margins are set to.

Now check your printer specs because there will be an unprintable area (unless you happen to have a full bleed printer).

Adjust your margins and headers a bit to see if this helps.

- Set Word to show all non-printable characters (like paragraph marks and tabs). Does that show a page 2?
- If you set it to View>Normal, do you see an implied page break?
- If you go the end of the document (ctrl-end), what does the page-counter in the status bar say? 1/1 or 1/2 or 2/2?
- If this concerns only one particular document, what's wrong with printing only the current page in stead of the whole document?
