Wondering about a possible startup prompt or icon?

by AndrewXtreme / September 6, 2008 2:30 PM PDT

Hey guys I have a question. I have chosen to not let my widgets start up when the computer does. However, People other than me come in to use the pc all the time. Is there a way to put a icon in the middle of the screen that would appear at start up and allow the user to click it to open up the widgets (I could name it something like launch cool desktop). I of course would want that icon to disappear after the widgets showed up, this is the only problem i have, getting the link to disappear. Is there a way to do this without having much programming knowledge at all. maybe a prompt would work? i dunno. thanks for your help guys. people on here rock and have truly helped me get the most out of my pc, thanks to all those that take the time to answer peoples ?s

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
