wmv files - no audio

Aug 30, 2009 6:02PM PDT

Hello!

When I play a wmv-file, located on my external HDD that is connected to the USB-movie port of my LE46B650, I get the message the there's no audio supported. The file is dowloaded from the microsoft site with HD Demo's. When ik play a HD Demo with .mp4 extension the audio does work.

I guess this is an codec issue, but the manual says that the wmv-audio codec should be supported.

What's wrong??

Thanx

theviper1000,

It does appear to be an audio codec issue. It may be the way the audio file was created, or a different incompatibility. I just have no definitive way of knowing.

the one .wmv i've tried playing, was the same issue. The video looked great, but no audio.

The manual says the TV should support .wma (which is the audio portion of a typical .wmv), but no luck.

I was going to try and open the file some program, and take a look, but didn't feel it was worth it. .WMV is a final format and Microsoft takes steps to prevent you from editing/re-encoding it.
