wmp woes in VISTA

Aug 8, 2007 11:25AM PDT

My system is Acer Aspire 5570z, 1.6ghz 512mb DDR and Win.Vista Home Edition. Okay folks, I was able to get my DVD Burner working properly but i still got a small problem with WMP. Now WMP will play my music CDs or any little bit of video clip i load on the system but will neve play a legit DVD. It directs me to the control panel to reset and resize my resolution/color setting. I have tried each setting one at a time with the same result.
I am now calling on the experts for your help. This is my girlfriends computer but seeing the hell that i am getting with vista, I will stay with XP. It took me forever to find the ADD/REMOVE GRRRRRR GRR
.

Media Player 11 Still Needs Codecs Unless...

..you've got the Media Center Edition in Vista Premium or Ultimate. Those particular versions of Vista should have the correct codecs. It is possible to pay for the codecs at the site below:

IN my opinion, I wouldn't use WMP to view DVDs anyway.. My favorites are to pay a little bit and get either Cyberlink's PowerDVD or Intervideo's WinDVD.. If you're really looking for something free, you can try the VLC from the link below.. It will play DVD's but the quality is much better in the other players.

Hope this helps.
