WMP problem, help!

Aug 3, 2007 6:42AM PDT

I have a new computer with windows vista and all those new stuff, I've importewd a lot of music I had in the old computer and when I click a music file to listen it stops and thinks for about 15 seconds and it plays the track. When I'm playing a playlist 15 seconds before the next song starts the music stops and plays evenly meanwhile it thinks in the next song, how can I fix this problem??

Just Clearify

What do you mean exactly by thinking?

And just for my own knowledge when you click lets say an mp3 file, does WMP launch right up and the song starts playing and then freezes for 15 seconds, or does WMP launch and sits idle for 15 seconds then begins to play.

Also for further clearification, it would be helpful to me to know exactly what type of sound file this occurs on, such as mp3, wav, mpeg4. Or does this occur on any type of sound file?

When I click an mp3 file the WMP launches but just before the song begins it pauses for like 15 seconds as if it were searching for the file or something. While the 15 seconds pass it says in the lower left corner "Changing Multimedia" (that's my traduction because my PC is in spanish) it even happens in Windows Media Center

My siste it's not slow, it's a Dual Core Dimension Desktop with 2 GB RAM, 350 GB of Hard Drive(7,something rpm) I don't exactly know everything I have to put on the specs list but hope it's enough.
