WMP 9 deleting my temporary internet files

I used to have Windows Media Player 7 and it would store and keep all
my media library clips in my computers temporary internet files
section. So I could use the files offline or online. Then I got service pack 2 and it gave me a new version of Windows Media Player[9]. Now, whenever any of my media library files doesn't work for whatever reason while working offline, a stay offline or connect to the internet prompt pops up. If I either click stay offline or the X out, it will delete every single media library file stored in my temporary internet file on my computer.

I have tried a few different things but they haven't worked. I would rather not permantly download these files onto my computer. How can I keep all the files permanently stored from my windows media library in my temporary internet file section, while using Windows Media Player 9 like I could using 7?
