It was too much trouble. Instead I use CDEX and then I have my MP3s which work in WMP. Maybe someone knows what's wrong with WMP but not me.
I'm bringing some MP3's into my WMP library from a CD using Windows Explorer to copy/paste. WMP automatically identifies the album & tracks and provides info from external database. Sometimes, however, only the FIRST TRACK is identified as part of the album; also, unidentified songs do not have a bitrate & length (when looked at in WMP library). I can use "find album info" to add the other songs to the album, but still no bitrate/length. I can play these tracks (from within WMP), but the bitrate/length does not show up (in the "now playing" window), and the blue bar doesn't move across showing position in the song; can't click to a random position within the track. BUT, if I go outside WMP and play one of these tracks by clicking on the file from Windows Explorer, it plays fine in WMP: the bitrate/length show up, the blue bar moves across. But the bitrate/length never show up in the library. Any help, anyone?
