WLM Issue with "Conversation On" Feature

Running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

I guess my WLM updated to a new version (2011). Now when I view my
newsgroup, all conversations are in separate conversations (list view). I can't follow the conversation at all.

In the past, a conversation (topic someone started) had each
individual Thread placed underneath. This way you would go to the conversation and expand the Threads to see the full activity that took place. When done this way, you can flag (watch) your personal conversation and sort them so that the ones you watching are grouped together at the top.

After reading on the Internet, I did find out that you can change it to Expand/Collapse by first sorting on the "Sent" column. Once you do this, the "Conversation" icon and the "Expand/Collapse" are enabled. You must turn Conversation to On, then click Expand. What is stupid (or at least I don't understand it) is that "Conversation" only remains "On" when you sort is by the "Sent" column. I usually like to sort by the "Watch". Even if I try to sort by the "Author" (so that my conversations are together) it disables the feature. Then your viewing everything in flat list view again.

This is just not very intuitive. I want to sort by any thing possible while leaving the Conversations "On", allowing me to "Expand/Collapse" the Threads.

Does anybody understand this better?

Sounds like a feature request.

Feature Request - WLM

I've taken steps to do that but it is not an easy thing to do. I was on Microsoft's Feedback forum and sent them an email. My guess is that it will fall on def ears but that's all I can do. On my other computer (XP) that I do my programming on, I don't plan to upgrade to the 2011 version.
Thanks for you response.
