WLM - Conversations Expan/Collapse

Oct 25, 2010 5:02AM PDT

Running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

I guess my WLM updated to a new version (2011). Now when I view my
newsgroup, all conversations are in separate threads. I can't follow the
conversation at all. In the past, a thread (topic someone started) had each
individual conversation placed underneath. This way you would go to the
thread and expand to see the full activity that took place.

After reading on the Internet, I did find out that you can change it to
Expand/Collapse by first sorting on the "Sent" column. Once you do this,
the "Conversation" icon and the "Expand/Collapse" are enabled. You must
turn Conversation to On, then click Expand. What is stupid (or at least I
don't understand it) is that it only remains in this mode as long as the
sort is by the "Sent" column. I usually like to sort by the "Watch". Even
if I try to sort by the "Author" (so that my threads are together) it
disables the Conversation Threads.

This is just not very intuitive. I want to sort by any thing possible while
leaving the Conversations "On" and it set to "Expand/Collapse". Does
anybody understand this better?

Thanks

Doesn't appear to be a Windows 7 issue.

It looks like a feature/bug/enhancement request for the WLM crew.

I suggest you hunt down those folk and their forum to feedback directly to them.

WLM Issue with "Conversation On"
Oct 29, 2010 5:02AM PDT

True not a Win7 Issue:

I don't know how contact them directly but I did find a WLM newsgroup. I would think that MS montitor's this newsgroup since the MVP responds in many cases. However, no responses yet (from anybody). I may have to figure out how to directly contact them, as you stated, to turn in a bug report.
Any ideas, let me know.
Thanks
