Wix xp sp3."my pictures" folder, won't open the right size

The "my pictures folder suddenly will not open to the medium size. It only will open to the full screen size or minimized to the smallest compressed size.
I need to open in the middle (medium) size in order to drag and drop pictures. The middle size box in the upper right hand corner of the screen will not make the screen size medium, only full screen or compressed size.. I don't know what changed suddenly. Help please, Thx Mel

ps. All my other folders work normally, with no problem.

Is this window 'almost' full screen? When it is displayed, can you drag the window sides and top/bottom inwards at all?

What happens if you open your My Documents folder either from the shortcut on your Desktop or the shortcut in the Start Menu? Can you then navigate to MyPictures from there?
