"The TH55 comes with a Windows application for converting AVI, QuickTime, and MPEG files into files it can play. These are actually QuickTime files that have been shrunk down and given an .mqv extension."

Use that.

If you can't understand the instructions (which I can't access) call the vendor or place that sold it and have them walk you through it. It's why you bought it from them.

Get Smartmovie player!

You can buy Smartmovie Player from a website like Handango.com (I think it's about $30) Then delete your Kinoma from the Clie. Smartmovie will allow you to watch about three times as many movies as Kinoma will! Then on the Smartmovie's website you can get the various formats (free downloads) you will need to convert whatever the format of your video. I also suggest you get a Jump Drive Trio or some kind of card reader for the Memory Sticks. After that, it's as simple as downloading the video, converting it with the Smartmovie software, and dragging it onto a Memory Stick! Put the Memory Stick in the Clie go to Smartmovie and tap the movie!

The TH55 has a nice big screen so watching movies will be great. I have to say that action movies aren't as great - fast movements cause distortion in both Kinoma and Smartmovie.

If you still want to use the Kinoma player install the Kinoma software from the CD that came with the Clie. You are adding the converter to your desktop. Videos in Mpeg format can be converted to the Kinoma format.

Stay away for the file sharing sites! They are nothing but trouble (viruses, worms, illegal stuff). You might want to look into getting a video capture card . AverMedia makes a great one for $50. Then you can hook up your DVD player and VCR to your computer and you can capture all the movies that you own and watch them on your Clie.
