Ensure that the DHCP Client Services are running
Hi,
I have Belkin 802.11b 2.4Ghz wireless router which is connected to a Huwai modem + router.
To this router i have three computers (all with Win2K OS) connected in wired mode. This setup works fine. I am able to browse the internet using the router modem configuration.
Router has ip 192.168.2.1 and the Huawei MT 800 modem + router has ip 192.168.1.1.
Router assigns IP address to all the three PC.
Problem
=======
In one PC, i have a Hawking 802.11g wirless Card, which i am trying to hook it up with the Router. In the router SSID is configured to be 'WXX' and operates on channel 9.
In the panel for Hawking - I see a tick mark that it has identified the SSID and that it understands the channel to be 9. But it displays no signal. There is no packet sent or received as per its log info which is displayed through its UI.
The router is not able to assign IP address to this card. I have a 2.4GHZ telephone near my router. I tried removing it off but still didn't work. Distance between router and the computer which holds the wireless adapter card is hardly 4 feet.
Am i missing something? or can anyone give me pointers to get this resolved. Once i get this resolved, i want to get rid of all wired connection, between the router and the machines.
Your pointers are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vijay Venkataraman
