The best solution to your wiring problem would be to buy an A/V receiver with high quality audio and video inputs and outputs. You will need a receiver with several component video inputs(not composite) and at least one component video output. In addition, you will need several optical or coax audio inputs. You can connect all your audio/video components to the receiver and just connect one video and one audio output to your TV. You then use the receiver as your A/V switch. If you buy a receiver with pleanty of extra inputs, you will be able to add any additional equipment to the receiver. Check out the Denon 2805 receiver on their website as an example. If you would like to hide all your equipment in a cabinet, you can buy an IR repeater to control all your components wirelessly.
I'm remodeling my living room, I will be installing a 50" HD plasma above my fireplace. This means I will need to run a bank of wires through the wall from the tv to where I plan on keeping my entertainment system (dvd, vcr, tivo,PC?,game consol, receiver, etc).I can only think of one way to do this... run a cable for every input and output on the back of my TV to the location of the components, so I can access what my TV has to offer with stuff I might want to ad in the future.I'm a contractor so anything is possible for me but Please tell me there is an easier way to do this...
