Question

wireless zero config turning itself off

Dec 9, 2013 4:56AM PST

I am using a netgear wnda3100v2 adaptor. It tries to start and fails, it is the most recent driver version. I have found that, when the machine starts up wireless zero service is started and then stopped (I think the wnda3100v2 adaptor is doing this). When that happens I can use the netgear software to bring up the network but that takes time. If I goto services, and start the wireless zero service the network immediately hooks up with no problem. This will also allow me to use windows to deal with the network so I don't have to go through the netgear software. I should also add that I use the same connection, irregardless of whether I used the netgear software or windows xp wireless zero.

My suspicion is that I would probably be wise to remove the netgear wnda3100v2 wizard (hopefully windows will then just do it all). Before I start messing with this, more than I have already, I would appreciate it if somebody could give me some thoughts so I don't seriously screw things up.

Thank you........

I ran into this years ago and you have to ask Netgear how to choose between their app and wireless zero. From memory you can't have both.

But what about SERVICES? did you change it to automatic or delayed start as a test?

By the way, you can batch that. Here's a link on that.

wireless zero problem

I did change the service to automatic which, I think, is why it started and then got turned off. I don't think delaying it would help although, when I start it, it hooks up immediately. I will goto netgear and ask the question although I don't have much hope as they are not real eager to answer any questions and, even when they do, they are rarely helpful <sigh>

It's not well supported and I see you don't want to try suggestions. At least you can put the stop and start in a batch file to make it less work.
