Wireless works on Notebook, Wired connection on PC doesn't

Nov 13, 2008 11:13AM PST

Hi,

My problem stems from the DSL connection from a PC at home.

It is hooked up to the DSL system, but it can't find a network connection and connect to the Internet.

The specs for the PC are:
Microsoft XP
Service tag: 15fpp31

The DSL Router:
Westell
Model: C90-610030-06
Rev: H
Has different categories with green lights
Lit: Power, Ethernet, DSL, Internet
Not Lit: USB

Linksys Wireless Router:
2.4 GHz; 802.11 g
Model: WRT54GS

It's frustrating since the Wireless on my laptop works but the PC can't connect even when all the DSL connections are hooked up to it.

Thanks for your help, and let me know if you need more information.

Hi,

Thank you for responding to my query. However, I was able to figure out the problem. I had left an ethernet cord unplugged. Sorry for any confusion, but I appreciate your effort to help me.

Thanks!
