Thanks for the e-mail. In all my studies on Max-fi, capacity has not emerged as a big problem. I'm certainly open to new information in that regard.
I will add that I do think fiber optic is important. My point is that the private sector should be allowed to provide it, as it already has to much of downtown Salt Lake. A coast-to-coast wireless network would be a great benefit to private users, but I'm sure many people would want to pay for more to their own homes, as well. That's perfectly fine, but making people who don't care about Internet pay through their taxes is not.

I emailed him regarding limitations with wireless and he referred to it as Max-fi in the email response. It seems as if someone who is for wireless and writes on a technology issue should know what the technology is.
