Wireless turns off when laptop wakes up

Oct 1, 2012 8:15AM PDT

When my laptop wakes up from sleep mode, my wireless turns off for about 2-5 minutes. The screen also flashes, the task bar switches from black to clear. When wireless starts working again, the screen flashes a second time and the task bar returns to black.

This started about a week ago.

Any ideas?

Use system restore to when it worked.

This isn't necessarily

This isn't necessarily what you think it is. When you put the laptop in sleep mode, the wireless connection is severed because the wireless card is shut down, but the state of everything as it was is preserved in RAM. When you wake the computer back up, it takes Windows a little bit to figure out that things are different from when you put the unit into sleep mode, and then make the necessary adjustments. While 2-5 minutes is a bit on the long side, given we have absolutely no system specs to work off of, it may well be perfectly normal.
