but this happened so long ago with a neighbor's set up, many of the the details are hazy... but I do recall the solution... presuming the wireless router is password protected, and you have a password stored for that access, try putting a $ as the leading character of the password.
Ughhh.
Okay, I have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Macbook..I bought it in May of 2007. Anywho, it's been working like a dream for me, no problems other than a few cosmetic issues..etc.
I just came home on Spring break, only to find that for some reason it refuses to connect to our wireless connection at home. It worked fine when I was here for xmas break, so I'm rather confused. At first we thought it was the router, as it was a rather old Netgear one that we've had for awhile. Airport recognizes our wireless network and shows a strong signal, but when I try to access the internet it stalls on the "connecting to comcast.net" and won't load the webpage..or any other for that matter.
My father brought a new router today, a Netgear "Super-G" wireless router...WGT624, and no change whatsoever. Our new imac hasn't had a problem at all, no loss of signal or issues connecting to the wireless. Lo and Behold, Mr. Macbook is still unable to connect.
It's taking a trip to the apple store this week to get the casing fixed..and I'll ask there too, but I just don't understand what would cause my macbook to quit on me all of a sudden.. =/
