In addition to what Bob said, just pretend like there's someone constantly looking over your shoulder that you don't know or trust, and so don't do anything you wouldn't do with that unknown/untrusted person looking over your shoulder. Things like check your bank accounts, read sensitive emails, buy stuff with a credit card, etc.
