Wireless Router, that does not interfere with a 2.4ghz phone

Mar 17, 2005 11:32AM PST

Hey,

Well basically I own a laptop (Dell Inpiration XPS) and a PDA (Ipaq 4705). And I want to use the WiFi function in the PDA and I already have a wireless card for the dell laptop. without the connection dropping everytime the phone is used. Is there a good powerful router for home use that has a long range and does not work on a 2.4ghz?

Thanks,
Chris

2.4 GHz

I have a 2.4 GHz phone, yet it does not interfere with my 2.4GHz router. I use a Westell Versalink Model 327W provided by Verizon DSL.

It may be easier...

to change the phone to a 900mhz or 5+ ghz model rather then switching network gear to the 802.11a standard. Or you can try relocating the base station of the cuurent phone, sometimes the move will help.

You didn't tell if you changed the RF Channel in the system.

All the Wifi setups I've done have RF channel selections. Did try channels 1, 6 and the uppermost one?
