Wireless repeater setup difficulty

Okay, hi guys. So my issue here is that we recently had a bust in with our old modem, and we've had to get a new one. The Virgin Media guys installed it all fine and the wireless signal from it is good. My issue is that the WiFi repeater I was using before (which was working) is obviously not connected to this new modem, and I can't figure it out. Despite many internet tutorials on how to set it up, it's just not having any of it. I can't find it in my wireless connections list, and I can't get anything when I connect it via ethernet. I just want good internet back in my room, can anyone help me please?
