It could be that Windows (what version?) is fixated on using the LAN connection. If this is Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, I make sure the cable is disconnected and open a command window and type...
IPCONFIG /RELEASE
Reboot and retry.
Bob
I just got a new laptop and when I brought it home wireless worked fine (I have a desktop with a router and cable internet). I tried setting up ?home office network? and it only worked when I connected the laptop with a cable at which point wireless stopped working. Now my laptop connects fine with the cable to my printer and desktop over the router but it cannot connect with wireless although the laptop recognizes a strong signal of my router.
Suggestions? Thanks!
