This is one of those "Mini" adapters which can never compete or perform as well as most phones, laptops and tablets.
Try one with real antennas.
It's a common problem with mini adapters. For one last hurrah but will not fix the basic issue try using the Google DNS of 8.8.8.8. How to do that is on the web.
Tech question.
Rig: I'm running an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 3.20 GHz

OK Here's my issue. I'm living in a basement apartment trying to connect my desktop to my landlord's router. My laptop connects fine. My phone and tablet connect fine. I've had a wireless connection before so I'm not sure what the issue is. The wireless adapter I'm using is a USB Netgear A6100 adapter. The landlord's router is Arris DG2470. My software says I'm connected to the WIFI network. Windows says I'm not and that the network doesn't have internet. I can still get on the internet but it's slow and some websites like my school won't work properly. Please help. Oh yeah, I'm running windows 10.
