wireless network (win server 2000-xp pro

Apr 12, 2005 4:07PM PDT

Ok. I have 2 question in one actually, here they go.. I recentely created a wireless network, at first the network was intended for 4 computers (1 with a server running windows server 2000 and the other 3 running win xp pro) so I got a belkin pre-N router and switch (4 ports) now the network grew by 3 computers and when they all connected at the sametime there aren't enough ports to connect the other computers to the server... now my question is if I get a 4 ports wireless G linksys router and switch (which is cheaper) will it have any compatibily issues?

the second part of my question is regarding the xp pro machines working on the windows server 2000? how is the compatibility for the two or should I use ms server 2003? I don't know if it's because of the wireless router or not because even though the wireless connection is always on excellent (belkin router works great!) most of the times I have trouble connecting to the server to get files from shared folders, anybody has any idea why this is happening... or again should I just upgrade to 2003 server by the way the server has intel p4 at 2.8 ghz and 512mb of ddr ram (maybe memory issues?)

thank you guys for taking the time to read my post.
