Wireless network problem

by jgraham95 / August 29, 2008 8:45 PM PDT

Hi there i recent bought a new pc with Vista Home Premium on it and am having problems connecting to my home network wirelessly.

It will connect via my ethernet lan but not my wireless lan. or rather it connects but on limited connectivity and has no internet access.

Now when i connect via my XP laptop or via a ethernet lan i have no problems browsing the internet.

but when i use the wireless on the vista system it will not recognise the network (although its connected on limited connectivity) or allow access to the internet. However i found if i remove my WPA-PSK [TKIP] encryption i can connect fine. Ive looked at the configuration on my wireless card and it matches that of my router.

my firewall also is enabled to allow the wireless card to work.

The only assumption i can come to is its somethign to do with the encryption but if the encryptions and passwords match then im out of ideas

any sugestions / solutions on how i could posibley fix this?

I fixed one just like that by installing the router's latest firmware. It was not a Vista bug.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
