is that the PC is USB-1 and the new hardware wants USB-2. If this is the case a USB-2 PCI card is needed. Or back to wired. And I prefer wired. Batteries will die at the most inopportune moment.
Hey, I have a problem that is bugging me out.
My mom decided she wants to have a PC of her own, so we set her up on a old PC of mine (about 5 years old) that about 2 years ago I had done a quick restore using the discs HP had provided to me. I had done that a lot of times before a while back and the mouse and keyboards worked fine.
However, now when I plug in the wireless keyboard and mouse combo she just bought, and then turn the computer on they do not work. The pop up on the bottom right of the screen (Windows XP home edition) says "Found USB peripheral" "found VGA source" and that's it for the messages. And the mouse and keyboard do not work. I tried using a standalone mouse (also wireless) that I own to see if it would work, and it would not work either. So it seems to be a PC problem. I have also tried all the USB ports on this computer, but to no avail. Only thing I can think of doing now is buying a wired mouse and keyboard to install the drivers for the wireless keyboard and mouse.
ANY other option I may have would really be great. Spent a lot of money already getting a monitor and speakers and such.
