wireless mice

Feb 4, 2006 3:23AM PST

if I have room with 10 computers in it and I run wireless mice on each one, presumably they don't interfere with each other? why?

also where is the transmitter? is it in the computer or the mouse?

and is there a limit on the range? presumably the optical mice have to be in line of sight, whereas the radio ones dont? What happens when they are out of this range?

can anyone point me to a website that could explain the technical aspects of this operation? explaining the technicals of how the radio/wireless/recognition system actually works?

Let Me Answer Your Clueless Questions

-First, they don't interfere because they are different model submodels and have different channels.

-The transmitter is it the mouse AND the keyboard. The computer is connected to receiver! Hints the word "transmit-ter".

-(This one made me die laughing) Okay, here it the deal. Optical does NOT have a range!!! It does not communicate with ANYTHING, and does not HAVE TO be wireless! It is the mouse that has no mouseball at the bottom but instead, a red light that tells the computer to move the mouse through a wire or through a signal! When a wireless mouse goes out of range, nothing happens! Why would you take it out of range anyway. This was so funny i signed up for CNET.

Hmm, I thought that

if a device have both a Transmiter and Receiver, they called 'Transceiver'

Transmiter, is the one transmiting the signal and Receiver is the one who receive the signal.

Just wonder..

Optical mouse have to be place against something.. try it to lift your mouse about an inch or so.. it won't works... try it closer, it will works..

HINT: there is a connection range involve
