Wireless Linlsys range expander

I already have a wireless net set up for the corp I am emplyed by. Right now im trying to extend our range for wireless network. I belive we had the right configuration for the set up . we are using a linsys wireless router . Im trying to use a linksys range expander to exstend our range. We need to set up for 2 floors . our problem is that it wont even go father than 30 feet. I belive the tablets are not reciving the expanders, but reciving the roughter signal. Also tryed csr from linksys with no luck..Any insite on how to properly set this up would help...
