wireless keyboard and optical mouse

I have a a AGK Nordic wireless keyboard and optical mouse. I am running Windows XP. They were acquired as a set. I am able to get the keyboard operating fine but the mouse is causing me some problems. The small black button on the under side of the mouse is my problem. It is the device use to get it to connect but I have no idea what to do with it. Do I press is till the light goes out or till the light remains stable . Maybe the light has to flicker I really have no idea. If any one can help me I would be very gratefull. Thank you
