Wireless Internet stops randomly

Ok, So I had a problem with my computer so I had to reinstall windows. I couldnt find my pro cd so I used my Home cd. Well, I cant find the cd key for it so I wasnt able to update to service pack 2.
Now I got a linksys wireless G adapter that has always worked good. I am using it right now to post this. But the problem is, every once in awhile when im downloading files, checking myspace, etc, it just stops out of the blue. I have to unplug it and plug it back in again for it to work. Is there any fix for this other then service pack 2? I have the latest drivers for my modem and my other computer works fine. My other computer doesent have service pack 2 and it has the same adapter. It seems like it just stops downloading but not uploading. If theres anything else I can post let me know.

Its a Linksys Wireless G with speedbooster and ive never had this problem before. I downloaded all the updates I could for my computer and i have the lastest drivers for my modem. My dsl modem sends a signal to both of my computers wirelessly.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for all the help in the past!!
