wireless for lap top!

My lap top is Dell D600, and it has centrino completing, intel pro wireless mini PCI card,or Wi-fi mini PCI card, please show me what is the procedure to activate my lap top to use this wireless service, providing that I've purchased a wireless modem.

It's likely already running. Have you been near any WiFi hotspots lately?
