Wireless Dongle for LN32A650?? WHY SO MUCH???

Apr 16, 2009 2:55PM PDT

Does anyone know of another way to hook up the 32" 6 series aside of using the extremely expensive Samsung wireless dongle? I have tried multiple USB network adapters, but can't seem to find one that works. I have hooked it up using modem but i had to carry my ENTIRE TV out into my living room in order to "make sure" the unit actually worked online. PLEASE if anyone has any advice let me know!! Thank you! Happy

Wireless Dongle for LN32A650?? WHY SO MUCH???

thegoofyweirdo,

The new ones are around $80.00 but those are for the 09 models.

The ones for your model are around $40.00.

Unfortunately they aren't in production anymore - and are pretty difficult to find.

BUT. I raided the Marketing Department's closet this evening... Why not send me your name, address, model number and serial number, and let me send you one? Compliments of Samsung.

(One of these days, someone in Marketing is going to yell my name, much like Dave Seville yells, "Alviiin!" for doing that...) Happy

Send an email to LSforumcontest@gmail.com and I'll get one out to you this week.

Get a router for $35
Jun 4, 2009 12:11AM PDT

I don't know why one would bother with these overpriced Samsung wireless dongles. $80 is outrageous for a wireless USB adapter.

I bought a wireless-G router for $35, hooked it up to the Ethernet port in the back, set it to Bridge Mode, and I was able to connect both my Dish DVR *and* the TV, wirelessly, to my other router. I get Infolink and WiseLink (without any additional software install on XP or Vista computers) on my LN52A850. The LN32A650 has the Ethernet port, too. So this approach should work for your TV. There is discussion on this forum on how to hook up the router/bridge and there are recommendation on which models to choose.
