Wireless Data Protection Question

by Brock259 / December 15, 2005 9:42 AM PST

Is there anyway for a home user to protect their data across a wireless network? I have my wireless system protected from other users logging on but is there a way to protect my data while traveling from the router to my laptop? Any Ideas?

Reasonable protection....

can be had by using the available tools of your router. Start with MAC filtering, change of password and disabling SSID. Then WEP and or WPA key encryption. Nothing is failsafe, but some level of protection can be had.

I did do those but am looking for ideas beyond my router set up.
