Wireless Connection problems

Aug 5, 2009 11:57AM PDT

Hi

I just bought a 46inch Series 7 LED TV and it's great.

I'm having issues with the wireless - it will connect fine, but now whenever I try to view my files it disconnects the wireless then my server disappears as a device on the DLNA screen. I have been able to watch a couple videos (with the same shares) with no problem. Now it keeps disconnecting. Once it disappears from the device list I have to turn the TV off and on again.

TV: UA46B7100

My computer is running Vista. The wireless network is working fine on my computer and iphone etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

theshelf,

Which server software are you using?

Hi HDTech, thanks for the quick reply.

I'm using 2.0.

I tried 2.1 but it won't let me share a folder on an external hard drive, it says I can only share folders :/

I've update the TV to the newest firmware.

I'm using a Wireless LAN Adapter in the TV - WIS09ABGN.

I've also tried the Windows Media Player sharing facility, PS3 Media Server and Google Media Server. All give the same result. They will all connect briefly then cut out.

Thanks

theshelf,

First, make sure the folders are shared in Windows.

If you were to drag and drop the folder into the PC Share interface screen, do you get a dialog box, and if so, what does it say? It may give an error but still place the folder in the box. If you highlight that folder, go to Property, and then enable sharing, it should allow you to refresh and access that folder.

Hey

I did that with the new version of the share manager and it seems to be working. Wouldn't let me share the folder by just dragging it, but does let me share it when I go into property and pick share.

Haven't had too much of a play, but definitely will over the next week or so, but also haven't had any dropouts, which were quite frequent.

Thanks for your help, will let you know how it goes over the next week or so.

Cheers
