Before we dive into all the other stuff, find, run WINSOCKXPFIX and tell if it helps.

Hi all,
I got a Toshiba Special Edition laptop with Windows XP home edition and a D link 802.11g router. I am able to connect to internet from the Cable modem. But When I connect a cable from modem to the router, my laptop detects wireless signal(excellent strength) but not able to access internet. I tried the following - 1. ipconfig/refresh in the dos command.
2. refreshed the settings of router by connecting a cable from the router to laptop 3. enabled/diabled WEP
4. Changed to " Autodetect IP" at TCP/IP protocol settings.
I have been trying for 2 days and am frustrated.....Please help me. Thanks.
