Again, I missed it that you enabled TWO connections to the same LAN. You should see both errors of duplicate name on the network and the cable unplugged.
Things are working as they were designed to be.
My main computer is running os windows xp which is connected directly to a linksys router and then connected to a modem. My second computer is also running os windows xp. I'm trying to connect my second computer as wireless using a D-Link. The connection has worked in the past but has always given me problems. Now I can't get it to connect at all. My wireless connection icon shows that I have a strong connection. When I look at available connections in the control panel I have a wireless connection and a local area connection. I assume I should use the wireless
connection, but have tried both. When I enable the local area
connection it tells me that there is a cable unplugged, but there
isn't.Both connections are fire walled. I assume that is correct.someone
suggested that I should adjust my firewall but the only options I see
is to turn firewall off or on if there is another way to setup I'm
interested in how to do it? also I have an iPod and it can pick up my
connection just fine. Does anyone have any ideas or suggest on how to
correct this problem. Thanks
