First grab what information you find at http://www.google.com/search?q=Tecra8000
For example make a data collection of http://inferno.slug.org/pdf/toshiba/tecra8000.pdf and drivers.
"32-bit, 3.3V PC CardBus Support Yes
16-bit, 5.0V PC Card Support Yes"
This means you can use just about any PC Card you find.
However WHY XP? If its just for email I install UBUNTU and a compatible wifi card.
Bob
I want to install a wireless adapter card in an old Toshiba Tecra8000 for an old pensioner who goes on religious missions trips periodically. Presently it has only 128 MB RAM running windows 98. (don't laugh) I plan to upgrade RAM to the max of 256 MB and install Windows XP. It will be used strictly for email
What kind of a card should I get? Is there another card available for an ethernet connection when wireless is not available?
Thanks!
