wireless adapter driver is gone

Jan 14, 2011 11:16AM PST

Hp lap top windows vista. Comcast is my provider and on Christmas I lost my wireless connection and it appears that my driver has been removed/deleated? I am using my lap top now connected to linksys. Kind of defeats the purpose of a lap top. Can any one tell me how to reinstall the driver through the enternet? I can't locate my instalation cd.

Supply the exact model number as members have been known to post links to the driver or ask if you pushed the on button for the wifi.

Google DV6000 RECALL to discover this model has issues. Failing wifi is one of them.

Ok, the usual dv6000 does have a wifi on/off button so be sure of its position and at hp.com is the drivers (again, no model so I can't tell where to check at hp.com) and install that and hope.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=EP-N8508-BP&cat=NET is what I get to avoid replacing the inside. WHY!!!! Because this model is one we forbid the techs to open up unless the customer signs a waiver that it may not survive. The issue is so dire we can't take the chance it will die on us.
