Wireless access point question?

Aug 30, 2004 6:53AM PDT

I am concerned that I may be purchasing the wrong piece of equipment. I have recently purchased a wireless router and I decided that I want to be able to play my PS2 on a a different floor of my house without running any Cat5 through my house. So I ordered a wireless access point. I plan on plugging my Cat5 into the access point and have it broadcast to my router I am not sure if that is the way the access points work though help if you can please

I will look into this but what would I need a bridge? I am so confused.

Unless it's the Brooklyn or George Washington Bridge, I'd be pretty amazed that you'd need more than a wireless router and the device I noted.

OH your a funny guy I enjoy your humor at the expense of my dignity, it is refreshing and well scripted. I was asking for advice because I have a friend who told me a wireless access point or a bridge can act as a liason for my router and Ps2 he said you that I might need a crossed cat5 or to config my bridge to allow me to do so. Thanks again for taking a cheapshot at some one who needs advice and help I really appreciate it.

You can add whatever parts you want to the brew, but at the end of the day, I'd just get the one piece to add and use the PS2 on that wireless router.

You can buy the bridge if you want, but unless it's something you can walk over, the seller of such is just emptying your pockets.

If you think I'm being unkind in some way, then who's trying to save you time and money?
