I have been through the same run-around that you describe since April 2006 regarding a phone I bought in Oct. 2005.
Just like you, I had become very discusted with the lack of service and the long wait time on the phone when trying to get to Inphonic. I finally contacted the CUSTOMER SERVICE dept. at my provider, Verizon Wireless. I once more recited my whole detailed story, complete with names, times, what was said etc. The rep. started to give me yet an excuse for a reason, why they couldn't do anything. I demanded to speak to a supervisor who could cut through the red tape. After much discussion it was finally agreed that Verizon Wireless would immediately credit my account with the $200 rebate I was owed. THEY ACTUALLY DID THIS! I dont know if they ever got their money from Inphonic but don't care either. Good luck to you.
I purchased my cellphone through wirefly about 9 months ago. The ask that you do certain things before getting your rebate. For instance be sure taht your cell phone do not carry an account by the time you must mail in your rebate. My rebate date was May 10th. I mailed in all necessary information and then when I visited the site to check the status on the web page they posted this message.
"We were able to locate the rebate claim(s) shown above based upon the information you entered. Unfortunately, we are currently reprocessing all recent rebate submissions, including the ones referenced above. There is nothing that you need to do at this point; we will contact you directly if there is anything we need from you to complete your claim submission. If you have been asked to resubmit any information to an Arizona address, please send it to the following address:

We are committed to paying all properly submitted rebates and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please check back in 3-4 weeks for an updated status.

I am fed up with the company and they are giving the run around to many people. I am pretty sure there are others who are experiencing the same as I. INPHONIC were contacted today 10/4/06 in regards to my situation.
10 am -The 1st attempt they place me on hold and then dropped the call.
10:15 am - They then said that they would investigate and tried to flip the switch that I did not submit my rebate in a timely fashion. I then got extremely irritated because I knew I submitted all necessary information as requested. My next step is to get their direct address and turn them over to the (Better Business Bureau and Consumer Regulatory Affairs) What they are doing is unacceptable. INPHONIC so called " investigating" and should contact me within 10 business days via telephone or postal mail or email. I will see what's gonna happen but in the mean-time I will be preparing my letter to report them for doing bad business. I refuse to let Wirefly or INPHONIC close the door in my face.
