Check out the Western Digital Live TV media player. A little over $100. I've been looking at that unit and just ordered one, but not yet played with it. It plugs into the TV, accepts input from USB drives and wireless networks. It seems to do what you want.
I am looking for a device that will for all intensive purposes turn a 32" cheap LCD TV into the equivalent of a giant wireless (or wired) picture frame. Catch is the PC is about 75 feet away from where the TV will sit.
I don't need streaming video capabilities or audio, just pictures, or perhaps a slide-show. I would like to know if there is anything that exists that is capable of this as I would like to avoid buying another computer to run the 'sign'
I'm trying to do this as cost effectively as possible. I understand there are TVs with USB capabilities, as I could use the picture viewer feature with a jump drive, however I'm not sure I can find one in my boss' budget, so I am looking to use existing hardware.
If anyone knows an easy way to even extend the pc's desktop onto a second screen that is 75 feet away?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
