wired network sharing files xp+98

Sep 29, 2004 4:23AM PDT

I have an amd 64 with xp and an amd k6-2 300 with windows 98
I bought a dlink 604 wired router which is connected to a cable modem and then to the 2 computers Now I would like to know the procedure to share files and the printer between the 2 systems
Both are able to connect to the internet but are not visible as network connections
I have my printer software on both
Please help as the stair climbing is not the exercise I had in mind Thank you

Nothing is supposed to show until you share a printer or such. And the firewalls stop this as well. Some firewalls don't have a true disable which causes some to waste a few months (hint: Zone_____)

Workgroup names have to be the same as well as setting some folders to share. Once this is done retry Network-Places/Neighborhood for the computers.
