Hi everyone I searched the forum looking for a similar thread an none matched. My situation is I have Verizon DSL. I have one pc that's hard wired by ethernet to the Westell dsl router, 2 pc's connected with wireless usb adapters, and one laptop connected by it's own internal wireless adapter. My problem is the wired connection is much slower than all of the wireless connections. I would think it would be the other way around. I haven't gotten around to doing any speed tests yet. My main test methods have been opening web pages and streaming video(youtube, etc). All the other computers stream video smoothly and open web pages pretty instantaneously. The wired computer takes about 5 seconds or so to open web pages and you can forget streaming video on it. Extremely jerky when it doesn't completely freeze. I did try disconnecting the ethernet connection and use one of the usb adapters on it and there was no change, still slow. since it's not a problem with the other computers, I have to assume it's not a router setting. I'm sort of thinking since I tried one of the usb adapters that work great on one of teh other computers that it's not an ethernet adapter problem, so I'm sort of baffled. I don't know if it makes a difference but the wired computer is the only xp computer in the house, the rest are running versions of Vista. I don't think it's an xp problem because it runs the same way with the Windows 7 install I have dually booted on it. I'd appreciate any idea guys, thanks
