Wired Antenna or Built on Antenna?

I am going to be getting access to my college's wireless in my apartment soon and I am wondering if I buy a PCI card for my desktop, should I but one with the antenna that is built on the back of the card or buy one that connects via a wire to the card? I am not sure which one I should go for. I am also looking in at purchasing a USB adapter, but I don't know which is the best for my needs. I will live less than 200 feet from the access point. Gaining a signal shouldn't be a problem. Any help would be great. Thanks
