Apr 22, 2011 11:17PM PDT

I have an Advent 7203 laptop about 4 years old that i want to give my son but i need to wipe it first. It has windows vista and i don't have any restore discs so how do i wipe it of all my junk and programs that i have downloaded since i bought it? Appreciate any help given.

Good and bad news.

The good news is this is well discussed. The bad news is that the answer is no. Without the CD/DVDs to restore the machine it has never been done.

You Have Two Options

Is there a restore partition on your laptop? Is there an option to create restore DVD's available? If the answer is no to both of these questions then I would go online to the manufacturer's website, click on support, and see if there is restore media available from them. This media is generally less than $20.00.
