winzip files intermingled

Nov 24, 2004 12:15AM PST

I somehow lost the entire "windows explorer" prog.
(not lost really, hidden somewhere).
I have a conflict with winzip program. I'm sure that
files are all intertwined(excuse lack of better word).
I'm sure that winzip is the problem, I can't for the life of me use that program.
Part of what's "wrapped together" is the i386 sys, along with syst.32. I am afraid to uninstall and I have spent hours trying to ferret one piece of the
programs, from the others.
I would like to uninstall entirely this program, and
get another compression zip in its place. Again, I don't quite dare just yet.
Is there a way to "clean & purge"winzip?
can I re-download windows explorer?
OS:win/XP, sp2
winzip 9.0
thanks
ken

To get to Windows Explorer, go to Start, Programs and then Accessories. You will find Windows Explorer there. Right click on it and select Pin to Start Menu.

As far as you WinZip problems, I don't know what you mean when you say that your files are "intermingled". What specifically are the symptoms you are having with WinZip. Is it causing errors to occur? Doe the problem occur when you are using WinZip? Does the problem occur when you are using Windows Explorer?

Please be more specific in describing your problem and I'll try to help.

What did you do to get the files intermingled ? What files did you unzipped ? Since there are system files involved, Try using System Restore to see whether the system rolls back.
