"i am finally ready ( forced ? ) to make the jump to XP pro.My query is my at home workgroup is win98SE & winME on my other two units. If i install Xp pro as a the only system on my third unit using the NTFS file system will i have be able to access and read files stored on it from my other systems or vice, versus ?"
Absolutely. The underlying file system does NOT determine if you can or can not access files. Linux and other OS's are prime examples of non-Microsoft file systems that are used by many OS's daily.
"I was going to multiboot or use fat32, but after some research thought that single boot with the latest technology was probably the best alternative, but i only want to do this once and properly but i need to access within my group.I hope tis is clear."
