Winxp Home boot up error

Mar 21, 2004 11:47PM PST

Hi, my friend's laptop got this error of a missing file and hence unable to boot up windows. The file name is named something similarly system32.

Any idea how to fix this error without having to reinstall?

I was thinkin to use the cd and boot it from cd-rom, and replace the file (constraint is that i dunno where is the location of file within cd, and also within hdd)

Or is there any other methods i can adopt to boot up safely? Thanks!

I also had this problem and I had to install frames (free download from Microsoft) and it solved the problem. If he cannot access the internet have someone download it for him and put on a disc it is a large file.

To boot up, use safe mode, using your install cd or directly on your computer if accessible.
