Resolved Question

Winrar 4.1 don't extract .rar files

Hi I have 8 rar files wich are all parts of a software. when I try to unrar, it does but in the unrared folders the files still and remains exactly the same. they still sames size and sames rar format. Whats happen? anybody knows why?

Ask the one who made the files to send zip-files or a .msi (Windows installer) in stead of rar-files.

Distributing Windows software in rar-format is quite uncommon, because Windows doesn't support it natively. In fact, we only see it with illegal download of cracked games and such. And that isn't to be discussed here.

Two ideas.

1. Try 7zip.
2. Ask them to supply it in something other than RAR. That's a format that isn't well supported and the person who gave this to you should be able to fix.
